Desc: Tee Talks: Life, Lessons, Laughter: Directed by Tyler Griffin. Tee Talks: Life, Lessons, Laughter tells the thoughts of six African American males, who are ages ranging from late teens to early 60s. These men discuss a variety of things about manhood as African American men, in hopes of preparing the next generation of men in their family to be quality men in the home and the world. The film takes place over dinner at Darryl's house, with his sons, Moe, Judas, and his grandson Lil Judas, brother Kenny, and his nephew, Mark. For young African American men to have their fathers and multiple other African American male figures in their lives is rare in modern society. When working as a collective unit, older African American men have a positive effect on the next generation of African American men. Through love, laughter, and lived experiences, these generations of men come together to hear how the men they were raised by and who they grew up around became the men they are today. They all share valuable life lessons learned throughout their lifetime that had a profound effect on how they carry themselves as men. And how they raise their children. These men are provided with a space to be emotionally vulnerable with family. Darryl hears for what seems to be the first time, praise from his children regarding life lessons he taught them throughout their lives that his children still hold as value to their current everyday life. Through open dialogue, the Griffin family defy stereotypes of Black men seen in the media by simply being themselves and sharing their stories.
